# The ZKP Base Layer
The Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) ecosystem heralds a transformative paradigm for decentralized artificial intelligence (AI), redefining the nexus of distributed compute, data sovereignty, and cryptographic security within the framework of [[Proof Pods in the Data Marketplace|Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN)]] [1].

These custom pallets integrate seamlessly with Substrate's BABE+GRANDPA consensus framework [109] [110] to orchestrate secure, verifiable, and scalable AI computations across a decentralized network while efficiently allocating [[ZKP/ZKP Base Layer/ZKP Blockchain/Competitiveness/Compute Verification|computational]] and [[ZKP/ZKP Base Layer/ZKP Blockchain/Performance/Storage Layer|storage resources.]]
By integrating [[ZKP/ZKP Base Layer/Core Concepts/Zero-Knowledge Proofs|zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs)]] [8, 9, 30], such as zk-SNARKs and zk-STARKs, through both EVM pallet [112] and native Substrate verification infrastructure [121], ZKP ensures the confidentiality and integrity of large-scale datasets and large language models (LLMs), enabling privacy-preserving data sharing and model training without compromising efficiency.
The platform's distributed compute framework empowers a [[ZKP/Data Marketplace/Tokenized Datasets/Comprehensive Mechanisms of Tokenized Datasets|global marketplace for AI-driven tasks]], fostering collaborative intelligence while mitigating centralized system limitations through Substrate's off-chain workers [120] and cross-chain messaging capabilities [115].
